GREY WATER! MYTH Vs REALITY

The concept of Grey Water treatment is still new to our System. The treatment starts with the separation of Grey water at the source through separate Plumbing lines. The Grey Water is less complex once this is done as it does not gets mixed with any form of fecal matter.
The Conventional Grey Water Treatment were percolation pits which are still part of our Individual residential blocks, while the larger once either treat them along with the Black water (regular Sewage Treatment Plant) or they after separation at source go for a conventional treatment.
Conventional Treatment followed for Grey Water
Typically, there is no conventional treatment exclusive for Grey water treatment. While there is plenty of variants in the field ranging from chemical treatment and disposal to biological treatment similar to STPs and even combination of both these similar to our Trade effluent Plants.
Case 1: Chemical Treatment
while is the mostly preferred ones in the Market, it involves treating the Grey water with chemicals such as Lime/Alum and settle the contaminants by adding flocculants in a plain settling tank. The clarified water is then either let out directly or sent to STP for further treatment or filter and used for gardening.
Do we treat the contaminants fully in this ? a big question mark prevails.
Case 2: Biological Treatment
The second most common way is to treat them similar to STPs; you aerate and settle them as Biological Sludge. There are two major cons in this. 1. when there is no Solids/soil present your BOD loading is very less making it challenging to maintaining your Biomass(MLSS) giving rise to the need of external bio-culture. 2. The need for Aeration and huge tanks to reduce the COD/BOD present.\

What we did?
At QWMS, we were very keen to find a solution to the above. We concentrated on the following
Having the above points, a complex and more efficient technology has been implied here to treat the grey water, which became the most suitable and simple treatment methodology.
We introduced PAC -Photon Chemical Process. An organic, eco-friendly chemical treatment exclusively for Grey water Treatment. We studied the Grey water and the organics behind it and with PAC we were able to destroy the organic chains and treat the same without generating any sludge.
WITHOUT ANY SLUDGE!!!
Yes! that's exactly what we did. We on breaking the organic chain between Carbon (C) and Hydrogen(H) molecules in the organic links, were able to generate H2O and Dioxides of the respective contaminants in the water. In this case, the only two derivative was H2O and CO2. No sludge or solids were generated in this process.
